Project Managers
Production managers are primarily administrators or supervisors; they determine the allocation of labor resources, track production scheduling and costs, make any on-the-fly adjustments to the process, and coordinate any receiving of raw materials or shipping of final goods. A production manager is very busy most days. The job is a lot of coordination. You should be able to juggle a lot of different jobs at the same time and deal with any emergencies that come up. The variety of the work on a day-to-day basis recommends this job to people with strong work ethics, curious minds, and organizational abilities. You should be able to draw up floor plans on one or many such software protocols such as Vector Works, Quark, et-cetera.
Lighting Designers
The role of the lighting designer (or LD) within event production is to work with the production manager, stage manager, and sometimes the sound engineer, musical director and choreographer to create an overall 'look' for the show, while keeping in mind issues of visibility, safety and cost. Leading a crew and executing your design are among essential aspects of this position.
Production Designers
From early in pre-production, the production designer collaborates with the Project Manager to establish the visual feel and specific aesthetic needs of the project. The production designer guides key personnel in other departments such as the Lighting Designer, Sound engineer an Video engineer, the locations’ manager (among others) to establish a unified visual appearance to the production.
AV, A1, A2, V1, V2, MUSCLE
General knowledge of projection of the different types of projectors inclusive of manipulating them to the point of perfection. The different types of screens, general knowledge of throw distances; different types of monitors. Must be both PC and Mac savvy. Audio/ Video File Manipulation; Fundamental knowledge of how av devices work (VCR, Beta Cam, Beta deck, DVD player, Switchers (e.g Folsom, FSR, Extron). AV project manager, installations. Design jobs and see them through to completion. Handle client, architect, and contractor relations, solve problems, and make it happen. Experience required. Work both in our office and in the field. This may be your chance to make the move from installer to project manager! Must to be able to lift 70lbs and valid driver’s license.
